Panasonic unveils low-noise 1-chip projector loaded with flagship features

Panasonic has launched a new high brightness, 1-chip DLP™ projector series which is the quietest in its class1.

Aimed at continuous 24-hour operation in public display and signage, as well as rental and staging applications, the DZ780 projectors feature a liquid-cooling system that reduces operating noise to just 30 dB when projecting at full lamp output power.

The dual-lamp projector outputs 7,000 lumens at WUXGA resolution and introduces a host of premium features, normally reserved for flagship large-venue projectors.

Hartmut Kulessa, Marketing Manager Projector Products, Panasonic Visual System Solutions, said, “Again in an installation-class projector, we have provided a spec sheet which will set the DZ780 series apart from the competition.”

“What is more, the series reduces the Total Cost of Ownership by doubling recommended lamp replacement to 4,000 hours in normal mode, over comparable models. There is also no requirement for air filter replacement, because of the dust-proof hermetic optical engine.”

Dual lamps and Relay Mode enable continuous 24-hour operation while ensuring uninterrupted playback in the event of lamp failure and, for the first time at this level, high-end System Daylight View 2 joins Panasonic’s proven Dynamic RGB Booster and Detail Clarity Processor technologies to ensure vivid colour reproduction, exceptional detail, and high brightness, even in well-lit spaces.

Functionality is outstanding with geometric adjustment for curved-screen projection and multi-screen support with colour matching and edge blending. The DZ780 series is also compatible with the optional Geometric Manager Pro and Auto Screen Adjustment plug-in software that automatically sets up and calibrates projectors in a network for multiple or curved-screen projection.

In another exclusive for this class of projector, the DZ780 series is now compatible with Art-Net DMX, a protocol for lighting management. It also features DIGITAL LINK, allowing long distance transmission of up to 1080p content using a single cable connection of up to 150m (100m for WUXGA resolution).

The DZ780 series comprises the PT-DZ780 (7,000 lm, WUXGA), PT-DW750 (7,000 lm, WXGA), and PT-DX820 (8,200 lm, XGA) and launches in April 2015.
